FOXTEL ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO MUSIC OFFERING dmg Radio’s smoothfm extends to TV screens and Two new MTV channels launching December 3

Foxtel today announced a re-invigorated music offering which will kick off this summer and provide subscribers with a new adult contemporary music channel as well as two refreshed MTV music channels.
SMOOTH, a television extension of the hugely popular smoothfm radio brand, will launch nationally on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 and will be the ultimate music destination, an easy place to relax and escape.

“SMOOTH on Foxtel will feature the highly successful adult contemporary music synonymous with smoothfm, with a range of programming such as countdowns, concert specials and music videos from iconic artists such as Madonna, Michael Bublè, Adele, Whitney Houston, Fleetwood Mac, Robbie Williams, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey.”
SMOOTH joins Foxtel’s stable of music channels alongside popular brands Channel [V], MAX, [V] HITS and Country Music Channel, ensuring that the platform offers something for all music lovers.
Worldwide music brand MTV will launch two new music channels, MTV Dance and MTV Music.
MTV Dance will bring the latest in dance, hip hop and RnB from around the world. With non-stop dance floor fillers, international charts and live dance performances from the biggest artists like David Guetta, Kanye West and Avicii, this is the ultimate dance party.
MTV Music is the home of global music videos and will deliver viewers unprecedented access to international artists and iconic MTV moments across the genres of pop, rock, urban and alternative music from Rihanna, Kings of Leon, Jay Z, Rudimental and more.

MTV (channel 124) remains part of the Foxtel’s Essentials pack, and MTV Dance and MTV Musicwill be available on the Kids & Music Package, replacing MTV Classic, MTV Hits and MTV Live.
